JOKER Movie Poster Design
I’m always looking for ways to expand my creativity. I’ve been wanting to create a movie poster for Todd Phillips’ film JOKER. If you haven’t seen it, rest assured there are no spoilers in this post.
Usually, when starting a new project I like to get my thoughts down on paper on what it is I’m wanting to create. Those thoughts can be represented as words, phrases, and or rough sketches. I do all this before jumping onto the computer. It helps me focus my mind on what it is I’m trying to accomplish.
I listened to the JOKER 2019 soundtrack while I was working on this project to set my attention to the mood and feeling I thought would represent the film. I tend to do this a lot when it comes to design. I feel that music quiets and pushes your wondering thoughts to the back while bringing your creative ideas to the forefront. It may be different for other creatives, but for me, it’s a must-have tool.
This was the first time I screen recorded my creative process. While you look at the final versions, take a look at the video of how I got there. Enjoy!
