Lynwood Robinson / Fujifilm X-Pro2
On one of the colder days we had here in Southern California, my friend Lynwood Robinson and I rode up to Big Tujunga Canyon and Angelest Crest Highway.
Lynwood and I set off from BAAK’s garage in Burbank, CA, and made our way out to Sunland about 11miles north. In Sunland, you’re able to reach the entrance to Big Tujunga Canyon. As you’re going up through the canyon there’s a pull-off that gives you a beautiful overlook of the Big Tujunga Dam. Every time I ride by this area I make it a point to stop and soak in the grandiose view of the mountains. On this day the light was majestically piercing through the clouds.
The further we road up the mountain towards Angeles Crest, the colder the temperature got. Fortunately, it wasn’t unbearable but made the ride even more interesting. Angeles Crest is known for its two-lane curvy roads and scenic views. Some days are busier than others, but on this day the traffic was somewhat mild. We were able to take breaks along the way to grab a few snaps of Lynwood on his BMW® Motorrad K 1600 B.
I took with me my Fujifilm X-Pro2, and two primes, the 23mmF2 and 90mm F2 lenses to document the journey. Riding motorcycles and imagery storytelling are two passions I combine to capture moments I want to remember most. I look for cameras that inspire me to create. This camera does that for me. After shooting with the Canon Canonet range finder camera for a whole year, I was loving the range finder style. I came across Fujifilm’s X-Pro2 and was instantly hooked. It’s now one the of cameras I never leave the house without.
Check out below some of the photos I was able to make during our ride.
